Lucky Penny Productions is proud to present two new shows opening this month.

First up is GIDION'S KNOT for one week only this weekend, January 20-24. Written by Johnna Adams and featuring Taylor Bartolucci and Dyan McBride.* Directed by Barry Martin, this is a heart-wrenching drama that will keep you riveted and spur heated debate. The story begins after Gidion is suspended from his 5th grade class. It becomes a taut mystery when a parent/teacher conference reveals more than anyone anticipated. Caught up in fear and protocols, the teacher tries to hold tight to secrets Gidion's mother doesn't know. What results is a dramatic clash of views on the bullying, the challenge teachers face, the nature of art, freedom of expression, and personal responsibility. Each Gidion's Knot performance will be followed by a post-show talkback with the actors and director. Rated R for subject matter.

On January 29, Lucky Penny presents its fourth annual 8 X 10 Play Festival, running through February 13. This festival of 10-minute plays will feature eight new works written around the theme of "love." As always, the plays were chosen by a "blind" reading committee which has selected the eight best from all 108 entries submitted from authors across the country. All eight plays will be presented each night and the audience may vote on their favorite. At the end of the run, the playwright with the most votes will win a cash prize.
