El Dorado Musical Theatre opens its production of the classic 42nd Street tonight, February 17, 2012. The production will run through March 4, 2012.

This show is set in 1933 and celebrates the stuff that dreams are made of. It’s the story of hard work, being in the right place at the right time, talent and love. It features the efforts of the famous director Julian Marsh to mount a successful stage production of a musical extravaganza called Pretty Lady, during the throes of the Great Depression. Uproariously funny, 42nd Street is highlighted by timeless numbers like "Shuffle Off to Buffalo," "We’re in the Money," “Lullaby of Broadway,” and the title song.

The 1980 Broadway production won the Tony Award for Best Musical and became a long-running hit. The show was produced in London in 1984 winning the Olivier Award for Best Musical, and its 2001 Broadway revival won the Tony for Best Revival.
