Custom Made Theatre & Just Theater Present World Premiere Of Jonathan Spector's GOOD. BETTER. BEST. BESTED.

Custom Made Theatre concludes its 2017-2018 season with Jonathan Spector's Good. Better. Best. Bested., a co-production with East Bay-based Just Theater. Directed by Lauren English, the show runs June 14-July 7 at Custom Made Theatre, 533 Sutter Street in San Francisco.

Good. Better. Best. Bested. is a one-night journey down the Las Vegas strip, an interwoven story of bachelorettes, magicians, street performers, gamblers, and tourists. As the nighttime festivities get under way, an earth-shattering event happens half a world away. In the midst of this tragedy and the chaos it unleashes, the characters must reckon with how much to let it disturb their good time.

Playwright Jonathan Spector said "I'm thrilled to be working on this play with Custom Made at this moment. Although I'd begun writing it several years, it's taken on a completely different valence and urgency after the election, where every day feels like we're teetering on the brink of pandemonium."

Custom Made Artistic Director Brian Katz said "I first talked with Jonathan about (what I heard was) his "Vegas play" at the Playwrights Foundation Festival retreat in 2015. I already knew and admired his work, but at the time I was really into watching the poker scene on TV (that got old really fast!) so the idea intrigued me. Of course, Good. Better. was already about so much more and it's been a delight to watch it develop into the wacky, poignant and moving script it is today. Custom Made is proud to partner with Just Theatre for this world premiere which concludes our remarkable 17-18 season."
