CHICAGO Presented by Aragon High School Performing Arts 11/21-24
By: Robert Diamond
Aragon High School Performing Arts is proud to present their fall musical, Chicago, in their 2013 Gold Nugget Merit Award winning theater. This Kander and Ebb musical sensation is full of classic Bob Fosse style singing, dancing and acting.
Set in prohibition-era Chicago, and based on actual crimes of passion, Chicago is a musical satire on corruption in the criminal justice system. A convicted murderess, Roxie Hart, and her cohort, Velma Kelly, bring the concept of the "celebrity criminal" to a new level. This thrilling musical is directed by Shane Smuin and choreographed by Lisa Cross with vocal direction by John Chen and orchestral direction by Troy Davis.
