The winner of Best Musical at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2017, Jim Steinman's BAT OUT OF HELL THE MUSICAL, is coming to the SHN Orpheum Theatre from December 4-23, 2018 for a limited 3-week engagement in San Francisco. Currently, the show "is all but blasting an adoring audience out of their seats" (The New York Times) night after night at London's Dominion Theatre.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 13 at 10AM PT through shnsf.com and through SHN Audience Services at 888-746-1799. This special engagement is not part of the regular 2018-2019 SHN Season.

For the first time, SHN will open its doors at the witching hour for a special midnight performance of BAT OUT OF THE HELL THE MUSICAL on December 7. All tickets will be $75.

Originally written as a musical, BAT OUT OF HELL went on to become one of the most iconic and successful albums of all time. 40 years later, this critically acclaimed, smash hit "brings the theatre and its audience thrillingly alive" (The Stage) with its jaw-dropping, boundary-pushing spectacle and Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf's legendary hits, including "Dead Ring for Love," "Two out of Three Ain't Bad," "Paradise by the Dashboard Light," "I'd do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)," and "Bat Out Of Hell."

Jim Steinman's BAT OUT OF HELL THE MUSICAL is a romantic adventure about rebellious youth and passionate love, set against the backdrop of a post-cataclysmic city adrift from the mainland. Strat, the forever-young leader of The Lost, has fallen for Raven, daughter of Falco, the tyrannical, ruler of Obsidian.

Directed by award-winning theatre and opera director Jay Scheib, BAT OUT OF HELL THE MUSICAL has book, music and lyrics by GRAMMY Award-winning record producer, composer, and lyricist Jim Steinman, choreography by Emma Portner, with musical arrangements and supervision by Michael Reed, set design by Jon Bausor, costume design by Meentje Nielsen & Jon Bausor, video design by Finn Ross, lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe, sound design by Gareth Owen, orchestration by Steve Sidwell, casting by Carrie Gardner and Jillian Cimini, C.S. A., and musical direction by Ryan Cantwell.

BAT OUT OF HELL THE MUSICAL is produced by David Sonenberg, Michael Cohl, Randy Lennox, Tony Smith.
