Alice Tumbles Into Wonderland For A Rock & Roll Adventure, Today

Bay Area Children's Theatre (BACT) invites families to tumble into Wonderland with Alice to meet all of Lewis Carroll's irresistible characters in a lively rock & roll musical that re-imagines Carroll's beloved tales. But beware! Everything will get "curi'user and curi'user," as Alice questions who she is and what her destiny will be.

Wonderland: Alice's Rock & Roll Adventure brings to life in music and dance a plucky young girl's wacky encounter with an anxious White Rabbit and his zany friends in the off-kilter kingdom of the dreaded Red Queen and the fearsome Jabberwock. Youngsters will be dazzled by the glittering costumes with a Victorian steam punk edge and the rainbow-hued set, parts of which will grow and shrink on demand. Adults will especially delight in the music, reminiscent of '80s rock, and witty lyrics by Michael Mahler and Rachel Rockwell.

Is Alice's adventure a dream? Director Hannah Dworkin won't say, but she is interpreting the story "through the lens of personal empowerment." And she guarantees it will be "tons of fun!"
