The San Diego Tribune weighed in on the struggles for locAl Small theatres in an article titled "Small Theatres Tossing The Script" by James Hebert.

The article, posted 12/27/2009 begins:

"If you were running a small theater in San Diego in 2009, you had to hope the silver lining of the year's economic agony didn't turn out to be the glint of a descending guillotine.

And yet it was a sign of the resiliency and resourcefulness of the county's more modestly budgeted performance companies that even when the worst happened, these scrappy theaters managed to salvage fresh opportunity.
