San Diego Musical Theatre Shares Cast and Creative of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN

San Diego Musical Theatre announced today the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of Young Frankenstein. From the creators of the record-breaking Broadway sensation, The Producers, comes this monster musical comedy. The comedy genius, Mel Brooks, adapts his legendarily funny film into a brilliant stage creation - Young Frankenstein! Music and lyrics by Mel Brooks, and book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan. Young Frankenstein will be directed by Larry Raben (SDMT's La Cage Aux Folles), with choreography by Daniel Smith, and music direction by Don LeMaster. Young Frankenstein runs September 28 - October 28, 2018 at the Horton Grand Theatre, with press opening on Saturday, September 29 at 8:00 PM.

Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced "Fronk-en-steen") inherits his family's estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor (pronounced "Eye-gore"), and a leggy lab assistant, Inga (pronounced normally), Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. "It's alive!" he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather's. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds.

The cast is led by Kevin Hafso Koppman* (Dr. Frederick Frankenstein), Donny Gersonde (The Monster), Jonathan Sangster (Igor), Kelly Derouin (Inga), Melina Kalomas* (Elizabeth), Christine Hewitt (Frau Blücher), and Troy Tinker (Inspector Kemp). The ensemble includes: Beth Alison, Nichole Beeks, Drew Bradford, Morgan Carberry, Randall Eames, Katie Marshall, Sebastian Montenegro, Emma Nossal, Aaron Shaw, Paul Stine, E.Y. Washington, Andrea Williams, and Austin Wright.

The creative team for Young Frankenstein includes: Larry Raben (Director), Daniel Smith (Choreographer), Don LeMaster (Music Director), Michelle Miles (Lighting Design), Janet Pitcher (Costume Design), Mathys Herbert & Networks (Set Design), Peter Herman (Wig/Hair Design), Heather Longfellow (Properties Design), Kevin Anthenill (Sound Design), Neil Dale (Production Manager), Steve Longfellow (Technical Director), and Matthew Bantock* (Stage Manager).

Performances for Young Frankenstein run September 28 - October 28, 2018 at the Horton Grand Theatre in San Diego's Gaslamp district. Showtimes for Young Frankenstein are Wednesdays at 7:30 PM, Thursdays at 7:30 PM, Fridays at 8:00 PM, Saturdays at 8:00 PM, and Sundays at 2:00 PM. Review: Much to love in AS YOU LIKE IT at La Jolla Playhouse Photo
The talented cast of  AS YOU LIKE  IT, now playing at La Jolla Playhouse through December 11th proves how false it is when other places say that casting in a representative way is too difficult to do. With lively performances and songs, along with gorgeous costumes, and scenery, there is much to love in this romantic comedy.
