The San Diego Repertory Theatre presents The Reduced Shakespeare Company's classic comedy THE COMPLETE WORKS OF William Shakespeare (ABRIDGED) during the weekends of June 11th to the 20th. They are also presenting THE SHOW ACROSS THE STREET as part of the 17th Annual Lipinsky Family Jewish Arts Festival from June 2nd to the 6th. All performances are at the Lyceum Theatre at 79 Horton Plaza.

THE COMPLETE WORKS OF William Shakespeare (ABRIDGED) is a delightful, fast paced romp through all 37 of Shakespeare's comedies, histories and tragedies in 97 minutes. It played for 10 years at the Criterion Theatre and became London's longest running comedy. Two of the original Reduced Shakespeare Company members, ReEd Martin and Austin Tichenor, will be performing during the first weekend. Times are Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 pm. Tickets are available at the website: link

THE SHOW ACROSS THE STREET is being presented by the Jewish Mexican American Theatre troupe Teatro Punto Y Coma. This world premiere comedy serves as the hilarious, unofficial sequel to the classic musical Fiddler On The Roof. Featuring original music, dance and video, THE SHOW ACROSS THE STREET was written and will be directed by Teatro Punto y Coma's Robert Moutal, who wrote and directed the show. The suggested age is 13 and older. The show schedule is June 2nd and 3rd at 7:30 pm; June 5th at 8:45pm; and June 6th 5:00pm. Tickets are available at the website: link

San Diego Repertory Theatre was born of a street theatre group called Indian Magique in 1976. The company was founded by Sam Woodhouse and Douglas Jacobs and had its first home in the Sixth Avenue Playhouse. Productions there included 19 San Diego premieres and 12 West Coast premieres of such plays as American Buffalo, The Unseen Hand, Curse of the Starving Class, Ladyhouse Blues, Getting Out, Wings, Working, Bleacher Bums, and K2. World premieres included Funeral March for a One-Man Band and Gold!, a project developed by the company (which included Whoopi Goldberg). In 1986, the REP moved to the new Lyceum Theatres in Horton Plaza, marking the beginning of a successful partnership with the City of San Diego. The REP took on the role of Resident Manager of the Lyceum complex, providing year-round services to other arts and community organizations.
