The body is both a source of inspiration for the actor and a tool for projecting character to the audience. Designed for intermediate- to advanced-level actors, this series of classes will give you powerful acting techniques to complement and extend your previous training. You will find the techniques valuable for performing in both the classical and contemporary repertoire. The class focuses on the seminal techniques of Michael Chekhov, particularly his renowned Psychological Gesture. We will also explore Keith Johnstone's Status Transactions and incorporate elements of Jacques Lecoq's pioneering work on the body and creativity. The classwork culminates in the application of all the techniques to memorized monologues.
