Max Weinberg Drum Clinic and Master Class Set for 10/1

The POW! Foundation presents an enhancement to the 2011/2012 Professional Performance Series: A clinic and master class with Max Weinberg.

On October 1st, Weinberg - known for his whip-crack drumming with Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band and more than a decade as the leader of Conan O'Brien's late night band - dons a very different hat: that of teacher.

Prior to his 8pm concert, "Mighty Max" Weinberg will host a drum demonstration and clinic onstage at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts. The clinic will be followed by a master class with members of Poway High School's Jazz Ensemble. Students will perform for Mr. Weinberg and receive coaching and a hands-on demonstration from one of the most diverse percussionists working today.

The event begins at 1pm. It is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.

Presented as part of the POW! Foundation's Arts in Education Initiative, a series of programs designed to give area students hands-on experiences with the Arts.
