The Douglas Morrisson Theatre has announced the fourth show in our 2014-2015 Journeys Season, HANK WILLIAMS: Lost Highway, The Music and Legend of Hank Williams by Randal Myler and Mark Harelik.

HANK WILLIAMS: Lost Highway will have 10 performances, including one preview, April 16 through April 26, 2015, at the Douglas Morrisson Theatre, 22311 N. Third St. in Hayward, CA. Tickets are $10-$29, and are available through the Box Office at (510) 881-6777 or online at www.dmtonline.org. Please note: Due to the limited two-week engagement, HANK WILLIAMS has an added Wednesday evening performance, on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.

DMT's production of HANK WILLIAMS features Kevin Singer as Hank Williams and an impressive ensemble of Bay Area actors and musicians: Paul Chianese as Shag on pedal steel guitar; Dylan Collins as Jimmy on lead electric guitar; Sarah Coykendall as Audrey; Rebecca Faiola as Mama Lily; Dwight Mahabir as Tee-Tot; Sarah Mitchell as the Waitress; Kyle O'Brien as Leon on fiddle and other instruments; Tom Reardon as Fred "Pap" Rose; and James Touzel as Hoss on upright bass.

A heartfelt musical biography of the legendary singer-songwriter, HANK WILLIAMS: Lost Highway transports audiences from the hills of rural southern Alabama to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, following Williams' spectacularly swift rise from humble honky-tonk beginnings on the Louisiana Hayride to his Nashville triumphs to his eventual self-destruction at twenty-nine. During the course of the evening, Hank and The Drifting Cowboys treat us to such unforgettable songs as "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," "Move It on Over" and "Hey, Good Lookin'" -- songs which take on new and meaningful resonance in the context of Hank Williams' short and troubled life.

Frequently mentioned alongside Louis Armstrong, Robert Johnson, Duke Ellington, Elvis and Bob Dylan, Hank Williams is undoubtedly one of the great innovators of American popular 'roots' music.

HANK WILLIAMS: Lost Highway was originally produced by the Manhattan Ensemble Theater in New York City, opening in December 2002, and has since enjoyed huge success at regional theaters around the country.

The creative team for HANK WILLIAMS is comprised of designers with credits from numerous Bay Area theatres and beyond: Liliana Duque Piñeiro (scenic designer), Allen Willner (lighting designer), and Valera Coble (costume designer).
