FUN HOME National Touring Cast Set for Thrive Youth Center Benefit Concert

Company members of the National Tour of Fun Home (currently playing at the AT&T Performing Arts Center - Winspear Opera House through September 24) will host a very special concert to benefit Thrive Youth Center on Thursday, September 21 at 9:45pm at AT&T Performing Arts Center Hamon Hall (2403 Flora Street, Dallas, TX) in the downtown Dallas Arts District.

Guests will be supporting a cause that has become a special focus of the Fun Home tour company as they enjoy an intimate evening featuring cabaret-style performances by members of the cast and band of Fun Home. A cash bar will also be available.

Tickets to "Fun Home Loves Thrive: A Benefit Concert" are available in advance $20 for students, $25 online purchase, $30 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at ticketdfw.com/funhome. All funds raised at the event will benefit Thrive Youth Center.

Thrive Youth Center is a homeless shelter for LGBTQ youth in San Antonio, TX. It is the only shelter of its kind in the state of Texas. Thrive's mission "is to provide a safe and supportive center for homeless LGBTQ youth so they may become productive, skilled, educated, and successful adults with the ability, opportunity, and possibility of achieving their dreams." "Thrive Youth Center is a shelter for LGBTQ young adults (ages 18-24) who are experiencing homelessness in San Antonio, TX. We provide an affirming, LGBTQ-positive environment where residents experience support and belonging as they take steps to exit homelessness" says Thrive Program Manager, Chelsea Berkowitz. "In addition to providing safe and secure housing, our objectives are to empower residents to pursue their life goals. Thrive provides counseling, life skill classes, and other resources to help residents develop self-sufficiency, secure and maintain employment, pursue educational goals, and secure and maintain stable housing."

Fun Home was the event of the 2015 Broadway season, receiving raves from critics and audiences alike, winning five 2015 Tony Awards including BEST MUSICAL and making history along the way as the first show written exclusively by women to win theater's highest achievement. It was named to all of the major top 10 lists including The New York Times, Associated Press, New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly, BuzzFeed, The Daily Beast, Chicago Tribune, The Hollywood Reporter and more.

Based on Alison Bechdel's best-selling graphic memoir, Fun Home introduces us to Alison at three different ages as she explores and unravels the many mysteries of her childhood that connect with her in surprising new ways. A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, Fun Home is a refreshingly honest, wholly original musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes.

Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House, designed by Foster + Partners of London, is a stunning 2,200-seat venue wrapped in red glass with outstanding acoustic performance halls.

Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre is a 575-seat theatre with one of the most versatile stages in the world and a distinctive aluminum exterior. It was designed by REX/OMA, Joshua Prince-Ramus (partner in charge) and Rem Koolhaas.

Annette Strauss Square, designed by Foster + Partners, is an open-air entertainment venue with lawn and patio seating for 2,000 surrounded by the downtown skyline.

Elaine D. and Charles A. Sammons Park is an urban park with native plants and grasses, landscaped lawns, performance spaces, a reflecting pool. Sammons Park was designed by Michel Desvigne and includes the Information Center designed by Foster + Partners.
