Youth Theatre at the U to Present Stage Adaptation of CROW AND WEASEL, 12/12-14

Youth Theatre at the U will perform Crow and Weasel, written by Jim Leonard Jr., Barry Lopez and John Luther Adams and adapted from the best-selling children's book by Barry Lopez, at Kingsbury Hall on the University of Utah campus on Thursday and Friday, December 12 and 13 at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 or one can of non-perishable food for students 18 and under, and are available at www.kingtix.com or by calling 801-581-7100.

In conjunction with the performance, Kingsbury Hall is hosting a food drive benefiting Sumi Nungwa and the Navajo and Hopi Elders. Each can of non-perishable food donated is good for one child's ticket. Bring food donations directly to the Kingsbury Hall box office to exchange for tickets.

Crow and Weasel was developed at the Sundance Playwriting Laboratory and was performed at the Sundance Summer Theatre after premiering at the Children's Theatre of Minneapolis.

Set in the mythic past and inspired by the traditions of the North American Plains people, this fable of self-discovery follows young Crow and Weasel as they set off on a journey into unknown parts of the world. Conquering their innermost fears, the two heroes learn more than they could have imagined - about humanity's relationship to the land, the importance of respecting other peoples and giving thanks, and the very nature of friendship itself.
