The talented young artists from the University of Utah Youth Theatre program return to Repertory Dance Theatre's "Ring Around the Rose" stage today, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 am.

The young actors (ages 10-18) will be performing highlights from their spring production of "Thumblelina." The classic fairy tale about a tiny girl born in a flower is given a Latin flair in this musical adaptation featuring songs inspired by Mexico and Central and South America. The story follows the small but plucky heroine through many adventures, learning along the way that when you follow your heart, nothing is impossible. As with all Ring Around the Rose shows, there will also be plenty of opportunities for audience involvement.

University of Utah Youth Theatre (UUYT) is dedicated to empowering youth to skillfully participate in the performing arts as a vehicle to explore their creativity, engage in their community and think critically about the world. For over twenty-five years, UUYT has been providing high quality out of school time theatre arts programs for young people along the Wasatch Front.

Ring Around The Rose is a wiggle friendly series of performances for children and families that explores the magical world of the arts including dance, theatre, music and storytelling. All shows begin at 11:00am at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, 138 W Broadway, SLC. Shows are $5 (kids 2 and under are free).

Ring Around The Rose is supported in part by: The Utah Division of Arts and Museums, National Endowment for the Arts, Salt Lake City Arts Council, the Salt Lake County Zoo Arts & Parks Program, and the Marriner S. Eccles Foundation.
