Kicking off a new season of exciting Broadway musicals, The Ziegfeld Theater is pleased to bring the film-turned musical comedy, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Based on the popular MGM film, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels follows the hijinks of two con men in the French Riviera. Sophisticated and suave, with a good dash of mischief, this hysterical comedy features a delightfully jazzy score by David Yazbek and was nominated for a staggering 11 Tony Awards.

Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money. Freddy Benson more humbly swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother's failing health. After attempting to work together, they quickly discover that this small French town isn't big enough for the two of them, and a hilarious battle of cons ensues that will keep audiences laughing, humming and guessing to the end.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is directed by Rick Rea, music directed by Jamie Balaich, and choreographed by Joshua Samuel Robinson.

The Ziegfeld Theater begins its fourth season in 2016 with new (to us) seats, providing our patrons with comfort and cup holders. Under the executive leadership of Caleb and Morgan Parry and the artistic leadership of Rick Rea, the theater pursues a mission of "Professional Standard, Community Spirit" as it strives to bring quality entertainment to diverse audiences in Northern Utah.

The opening gala and performance is Friday, February 5 at 7:30 p.m. Regular performances are 7:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday, with two 2:00 p.m. matinees on Saturdays February 27 and March 5.
