What happens when you pursue creativity with reckless abandon? Adam Savage-former co-host of the Emmy-nominated Discovery series Mythbusters-will share his make-it-your-own curiosity and wisdom with the Park City Institute audience at the Eccles Center on December 10, 2016.

"Adam Savage proves that a sense of wonder has no expiration date," says PCI Executive Director Teri Orr. "He spent 14 years co-hosting Mythbusters, and now he's talking to audiences about the twists and turns he took to get there, what he learned along the way, and how a sense of wonder and adventure is the best tool for science and for storytelling."

Savage blends his curiosity about making stuff-whether it's a toy or an omelet-with stories, popping up frequently on tested.com. In fact, in his many-tiered career, Savage has built everything from spaceships for Star Wars movies, to buddhas to puppets to rifles to sculptures to toys. He has worked in the special effects industry, and in both film and commercials as an animator, graphic designer, rigger, scenic painter, carpenter, welder... working with everything from glass and plastics to hydraulics and animatronics.

"He has delivered a TED talk on the TED stage," says Orr. "He's gone undercover in a bear costume at Comicon-and we're excited that he's bringing that brand of humor and curiosity-inspired-can-do-energy to share with the curious and creative audience in Park City."

Tickets to Adam Savage's show are available at ecclescenter.org, or by calling the box office at 435-655-3114. For a limited time, they are included in the Mind-Benders Package, with Cirque Éloize February 21 or 22, 2017, and an additional performance of your choice, at a discount.
