Pulley Puppets to Present TURKEY TALES WITH A TWIST at SCERA, 11/16

By:

Since 2004, a family of puppeteers called The Pulley Puppets has performed their fun, amusing and witty shows all around the valley, including the Orem Public Library, Thanksgiving Point, elementary schools and more.

And now they return to SCERA for a second time, as they present a puppet show entitled "Turkey Tales with a Twist" at the SCERA Center for the Arts on Saturday, November 19 @ 11:00am. Tickets for the 45-minute show are $3 for ages 3 and older and may be purchased in advance from 10am-6pm weekdays and Saturdays from 12Noon-6pm at the main office at SCERA Center, by calling (801) 225-ARTS, online at www.scera.org or at the door 30 minutes prior to the show.

Pulley Puppets is a family troupe - from the young to the young at heart. A family of educators, The Pulleys enjoy creating new stories or taking a familiar story and putting a special twist on it.

SCERA's President & CEO is happy to have Pulley Puppets back. "They are really passionate about bringing literature alive through the art of puppetry."

"Turkey Tales with a Twist" is about two troublesome turkeys who are up to no good. Along the way they meet Little Red Super Hero, The Big Bad Crow and last but not least they hide out in Mr. Barker's pet shop trying to escape their Thanksgiving fate. The Pulley Puppets intertwine several stories into one Thanksgiving and fall-themed show.

Little Red Super Hero is a little boy namEd Thomas who goes by the name of Little Red because he is always wearing his super hero cape. Little Red is on his way to grannies when he meets Wilbur the Wolf. In Mr. Barker's Pet Shop, the eccentric Mr. Barker tries to help Hannah find the perfect puppy. Add in Three Little Scarecrows who go out in the world to find their own fields to protect, and find trouble when the Big Bad Crow arrives!

The SCERA Puppet Shop, under the direction of Nat Reed, hosts a different puppet show each month. Upcoming shows will be held on the third Saturday of each month: December 21, January 18, February 15, March 15, April 19 and May 17.
