Park City Institute presents An Evening With Anne Lamott on The Eccles Center Main Stage Sharing her insights, on the tough stuff of life, award-winning author, internet sage and TED speaker, Anne Lamott, returns to Main Stage at the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Center for Performing Arts, Saturday February 3. The evening is part of the Park City Institute's 20th Anniversary Season.

"We are thrilled to welcome Anne Lamott back to the Main Stage," said Teri Orr, executive director of Park City Institute. "Lamott doesn't sugar-coat disappointment. She embraces it with honesty, and compassion and laugh-out-loud observations. There's a reason more than 2 million people have watched her TED Talk, which is all about the lessons we learn the hard way, and the unexpected insights that bring us joy."

Over a storied career which has included publishing more than 20 books of fiction and non-fiction (Bird By Bird, Operating Instructions, Hard Laughter, Rosie, Joe Jones, Crooked Little Heart), Lamott has gained a reputation for addressing, frankly, the messiest truths of life. Whether covering sobriety, faith, motherhood, or writing, she is known for lifting up, comforting, inspiring and keeping her readers and audiences laughing. The New York Times' Ruth Reichl once said, "A minute with Anne Lamott is like a week with anyone else."

Lamott's latest book, Hallelujah, Anyway, along with other of her titles, is available at Dolly's Bookstore on Main Street in Park City. Books will also be available for purchase in the Eccles Center lobby, on the night of the show.
