Concert begins at 8:00 p.m.
Utah Cultural Celebration Center, 1355 West 3100 South
EVERYONE is invited to this FREE concert and jazz workshop!
The audience will be guided through the history of our American art form, jazz, beginning with early New Orleans jazz of the turn of the century characterized by the great Bunk Johnson's band then moving on to the Roaring Twenties with replications of pieces by Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton. The second half of the concert will feature bebop from the 1940s and cool jazz from the 1950s ending with a couple of rollicking blues and jive numbers. This will be fun family music and no earplugs will be necessary.
