Desert Star Playhouse Presents CHRISTMAS VACATION, 11/18

By:

There's no place like Desert Star Playhouse for the holidays.  Each year, the theatre that has built a reputation on family-friendly comedy presents an original Christmas production. This year's offering is "Christmas Vacation: The Bi-Polar Express." This jolly holiday romp opens November 18.

Little Audrey Trump only wants one thing this Christmas: to know if Santa Claus is real! Soon, she finds herself whisked off on a magical adventure aboard the Bi-Polar Express. She's accompanied by her workaholic father, Ronald Trump (Donald's less-successful brother).  Along the way, they meet a zany cast of characters including Frostbite the Snowman, a bi-polar bear, Keebler the Elf, and of course, Jolly Old St. Nick!  But Keebler has a plan that will ruin Santa. Now Aubrey and Donald will have to help Santa stop Keebler and save Christmas.  Don't miss this magical holiday comedy for the whole family.

Desert Star will present "Christmas Vacation: The Bi-Polar Express" on both stages: the original Playhouse Theatre as well as in its newer Dinner Theatre.  While the show will be the same in both theatres, what differs is the ambiance and dinner selections.

For Playhouse guests, the theatre is charmingly rustic.  Food is optional from an á la carte menu and is served right at your table.  The menu includes gourmet pizza, fresh wraps, appetizers, and scrumptious desserts.

The Dinner Theatre provides a more upscale option.  The theater itself is decorated more elegantly, and a restaurant-quality meal comes the show.  Guests may choose from Pan-Fried Chicken Breast With Crispy Sage Breading, Hardwood Smoked Ham With Tart Cherry Glaze, or Roasted Beef Loin With Garlic Herb Crust. The Dinner Theatre is a perfect option for company parties.

"Christmas Vacation: The Bi-Polar Express" combines wacky gags and zany characters with Desert Star's famous brand of screwball comedy.  This show will run from November 18 to January 1.  The evening also includes one of Desert Star's signature musical olios following the show.  The "Winter Wonderland Olio" features many of your favorite, heartwarming Christmas songs, served up with a helping of Desert Star's holiday comedy.  The evening includes a visit from the Jolly Old Elf himself, with a treat for all the good little girls and boys.  Tickets may be purchased by calling the box office at (801) 266-2600 or purchased online at DesertStar.biz
