Bardway Baby! is back at the Utah Shakespeare Festival for a second wave of musical entertainment. Bardway, Baby! 2 is a late-night concert event featuring Broadway show tunes of the past and present. Performed by Festival actors, the concert will be held on August 19 at approximately 11:15 p.m. in the Auditorium Theatre. Tickets are $25 and are available now at www.bard.org or 1-800-PLAYTIX. Seating will be general admission.

The fundraising concert will benefit the Artistic Initiative Fund, which was established last year by co-artistic directors, David Ivers and Brian Vaughn. The Artistic Initiative Fund was created in order to promote the Festival's growth in artistic excellence. The fund will serve to increase the size and scope of the Festival's production design aesthetic, as well as increase the Festival's national and international presence. The target goal of the Artistic Initiative Fund is $250,000 by 2013.
Bardway, Baby! 2, will feature live music, duet numbers, and is hosted by Festival favorite, Leslie Brott. Performing will be Melinda Parrett, Laura Griffith, Ben Jacoby, Barbara Jo Bednarczuk, Kyle Jeffery Eberlein, Kymberly Mellen, Melinda Pfundstein, and Brian Vaughn.

Last year Bardway Baby! attracted a crowd of nearly 700 people and $25,000 was raised for the Artistic Initiative Fund. Ivers and Vaughn were thrilled with the support and generosity. Their goal for Bardway, Baby! 2 is to sell out the house, so they are telling everyone to purchase tickets in advance.

"This is a great way to celebrate the artists in our company, and to showcase the Broadway caliber talent that we have at the Festival," said Vaughn. "Many of the actors in our company have performed on Broadway, and this will give our audience members the opportunity to see them truly explore their range."

Tickets for the Festival's 50th anniversary season, which will run through October 22, 2011, are now on sale. The eight-play season includes Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Richard III, Romeo and Juliet, and The Winter's Tale. The season also includes Meredith Willson's great American musical The Music Man, Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, Michael Frayn's Noises Off!, and the mystery thriller Dial M for Murder by Frederick Knott.
