Join the Utah Shakespeare Festival for a special book signing event with Jennifer Adams, author of the BabyLit series, on Friday, August 1 at 7 p.m. in the lobby of the Randall L. Jones Theatre. Adams will be signing Sense and Sensibility: A BabyLit Opposites Primer and Sherlock Holmes in the Hound of the Baskervilles: A BabyLit Sounds Primer in honor of the productions at the Festival. She will also have her other works on hand including Pride & Prejudice: A BabyLit Counting Primer, Y is for Yorick: A Slightly Irreverent Shakespearean ABC Book for Grown-Ups, and other BabyLit books.

Sense and Sensibility: A BabyLit Opposites Primer observes the life and loves of the Dashwood sisters, Elinor and Marianne. Readers learn the difference between big Norland Park and little Barton Cottage, happy Mr. Willoughby and sad Colonel Brandon, while hoping that one day Elinor and Marianne will leave their single days behind them and celebrate worthy marriage.

In Sherlock Holmes in the Hound of Baskervilles: A BabyLit Sounds Primer Alison Oliver's bold illustrations correspond with Jennifer Adams' clever, simple text to create pairings children will love when read to them, such as "hounds howl," "gates screech," and "stairs creak."

Adams is known for her dark humor and witty remarks about classic literature. She lives and works in Salt Lake City, and is the author of several books that take classic literature and make it accessible to children. Most of her books can be purchased at the Festival's Randall Gifts and Gallery.

Tickets are on sale for the Festival's 53rd season, which will run from June 23 to October 18, 2014. The eight-play season includes Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, The Comedy of Errors, Henry IV Part One, and Twelfth Night. The season will also include the world premiere adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility written by Joseph Hanreddy and J. R. Sullivan, Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, Steven Dietz's adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure, and Boeing Boeing by Marc Camoletti.
