A festive ribbon-cutting ceremony launched The Acoustic Space, a new event venue/vocal studio in the heart of

Bob and Jacki Chilton

downtown Salt Lake City at The Gateway.

"We are providing downtown Salt Lake with a professional, well-designed event venue and voice studio," said Jacki Chilton, The Acoustic Space owner. "Our objective is to be the perfect place to hold business events and social parties. We have purposely designed The Acoustic Space to suit events well needed for the theatrical and entertainment community of Salt Lake City.

"As a voice studio our objective is to teach singers, actors, and speakers in an atmosphere that promotes energy and fosters creativity and self esteem. Our goal is to become a powerful networking resource for all three categories of students."

The success The Acoustic Space will be based on "forming relationships with fellow teachers, such as Tracy Callahan, theater professor and head of the acting and directing program at Weber State College; Michael Chipman, professor of voice at Westminster College; and many of the fabulously talented professional acting community, such as the lovely Emilie Starr and crazy talented Carleton Bluford," she added.

Ceremony guests included Utah Senator Jim Dabakis; and members of the Salt Lake Chamber, which hosted the event; Visit Salt Lake; and Cooperate Alliance.

The venue features a performance stage and advanced audio system.

The Acoustic Space is located at 124 S. 400 West in Salt Lake City. For more information, visit http://www.saltlakecityvocalcoach.com/.
