I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE Opens at Cosmopolitan Cabaret Tonight, 9/28

By:

The hit musical comedy I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, Off-Broadway's longest running musical, filled with catchy original songs and biting humor, opens tonight, Sept. 28 and runs through Nov. 18 at the intimate Cosmopolitan Cabaret.

The show is a hilarious look at personal relationships, with all-too-relatable scenarios of dating, romance, marriage, lovers and in-laws. Through a series of vignettes with clever musical numbers, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change explores the universal themes of love and relationships, often exposing their humorous absurdities. Anyone who has been in a relationship of any kind will likely relate to one or more of the show's characters.

Tickets for I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change are available now through the Wells Fargo Pavilion Box Office at 1419 H Street, by calling (916) 557-1999, or online at Tickets.com. Tickets are also available at the Cosmopolitan Cabaret Box Office, which opens two hours prior to every performance. Single tickets start at $20 for all performances. Matinee performances are Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Evening performances are Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change features a cast of four who each play more than a dozen different characters. With book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, the show premiered Off-Broadway at New York City's Westside Theatre in 1996 and ran for more than 5,000 performances. It has since been performed throughout the world and translated into at least 14 languages, demonstrating the broad appeal of its universal themes.

The Cosmopolitan Cabaret production of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change will be directed by California Musical Theatre Artistic Director Glenn Casale. The Cast for the show includes Michael Dotson, who was in this season's Music Circus production of The Music Man; Jerry Lee, who was in the hit Cosmopolitan Cabaret production of Forbidden Broadway earlier this year; Jennifer Malenke, who has appeared on Broadway in Into the Woods and in a wide range of regional Theater Productions; Melissa WolfKlain, who was also in the Cosmopolitan Cabaret production of Forbidden Broadway, as well as this season's Music Circus production of Grease.

The Cosmopolitan Cabaret season is produced under the direction of Executive Producer Richard Lewis, Artistic Director Glenn Casale and Associate Producer Marlene Shire-Anderson.

All productions are performed at The Cosmopolitan Cabaret, an intimate 200-seat theatre venue where you can enjoy cocktails and refreshments during the show. Patrons may order food and drinks from their seats inside the theatre, or visit one of the adjoining restaurants before or after the show, including Café Bernardo and K Bar. Late-night dancing is also available upstairs at Social Nightclub. The Cosmopolitan Cabaret is located at 1000 K Street, across from the Crest Theatre.
