We all grew up with Go, Dog. Go! The Harris Center is proud to bring the adventures of P.D. Eastman's beloved children's book to life in a frolicking musical dog party, live on stage. Created by Childsplay, "one of the best theater troupes in Arizona, it also is one of the best theaters for young audiences in the country, with top-notch acting and production values" (Arizona Republic). The company presents this beloved preschool favorite with a cast that has gone straight to the dogs - with cars, hats, a moonlit boat ride, and even a wild game of ball - as this hilarious visual spectacle manages to sneak in some important lessons about life between innings.

Go, Dog. Go! will wag its tail live in the Harris Center Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 1 pm. Children's tickets are $11.50-$14; Adults $15-18. Tickets are available online at www.harriscenter.net or from Harris Center Ticket Office at 916-608-6888 from 12 noon to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday, and two hours before show time. Parking is included in the price of the ticket. Harris Center is located on the west side of Folsom Lake College campus in Folsom, CA, facing East Bidwell Street.

Go, Dog. Go! is a musical romp full of surprises, color, clowning, vaudeville, singing/barking and, of course, six lovable dogs. Most enjoyable for young people age three and older, the producing company fully intends to stay true to the original work. As the playwrights for the national tour of Go, Dog. Go! Allison Gregory and Steven Dietznote have noted "P.D. Eastman's timeless work honors the joyous simplicity of the world around us. Therefore in crafting a stage version of Go, Dog. Go!, it is not our intention to 'fill out' or 'open up' the story in the style of many traditional adaptations. We have, in fact, added virtually no words of our own. 'Expanding' the book in this way would, we believe, rob it of its essential wondrous and loopy anarchy. Instead, we hope to celebrate and explore the existing words and pictures!"

The dogs delve into life with gusto, creating a visual spectacle for the audience to feast upon. "As always Childsplay creates a variety of winning special effects, wild set pieces, creative costumes and a bunch of other theatrical tricks that take the young audiences on a magical journey and adventure" (KBAQ).

Founded in 1977, Childsplay is a nationally and internationally respected professional theatre company whose chosen audience is children. At Childsplay the belief that young people deserve to experience challenging, thought-provoking theatre of the highest artistic quality is center to the company's mission. "Our respect for children's intelligence and creativity drives us to produce new and innovative works by theatre's finest artists...In the past 36 years, we have educated and inspired more than four million young people and families. We have grown to serve an average annual audience of 200,000 students, teachers, and families" (Childsplay artistic statement).
