Falcon's Eye Theatre to Stage SPRING AWAKENING, 4/10-13

By:

The Falcon's Eye Theatre at Folsom Lake College announces its April 2014 production of the electrifying musical drama, Spring Awakening. This marks the first performance by The Falcon's Eye on the magnificent main stage of the Harris Center for the Performing Arts.

Winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, SPRING AWAKENING is a rock musical adaptation of Frank Wedekind's 1891 expressionist play about the trials and tribulations, and the exhilarations of the teen years. It's Germany, 1891. The beautiful young Wendla explores her body and asks her mother where babies come from. Elsewhere, the brilliant and fearless young Melchior defends his buddy Moritz -- a boy so traumatized by puberty he can't concentrate on anything. One afternoon in the woods, Wendla and Melchior discover a desire unlike anything they've ever felt. SPRING AWAKENING celebrates the unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with a power, poignancy, and passion that you will never forget.

SPRING AWAKENING opens on Thursday, April 10 and will continue through Sunday, April 13. Performances are Thursday April 10 at 7:30 pm, Friday April 11 at 7:30 pm, Saturday April 12 at 2:00 pm AND 7:30 pm, and Sunday April 13 at 2:00 pm.
