El Dorado Musical Theatre Holds Auditions for ANYTHING GOES, 2/28
El Dorado Musical Theatre will be holding auditions for ANYTHING GOES on February 28, 2011 at 3:30pm. Online registration opens February 16, 2011 at 8:00 PM at www.edmt-tickets.com. The auditions will be held at the EDMT Rehearsal Hall at 5011 Golden Foothill Pkwy, #4, El Dorado Hills 95762. The auditions are open to performers ages 10-20. Walk ups on the day of auditions will be taken if space as long as space is available.

The S.S. American, sailing from New York to England, carries an unusual group of passengers. Included amongst them are Public Enemy #13 (Moonface Martin), who is disguised as a minister, his friend and cohort (Bonnie), a wealthy debutante and her mother (Hope and Evangeline Harcourt), a nightclub singer and evangelist (Reno Sweeney), her backup singers and dancers (The Angels), and a wealthy New York businessman and his stowaway assistant (Elisha Witney and Billy Crocker).It turns out that Hope is Billy's long-lost love. Unfortunately, she is now engaged to a wealthy Englishman, Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. After a series of comedic happenings, Billy manages to win back Hope. Meanwhile, Billy's friend, Reno, manages to win Lord Evelyn. All this happens while Moonface Martin attempts to escape the law and Hope's mother strives to maintain her social status. A series of comical mistaken identities develop as the passengers and crew sing, tap, and dance their way across the Atlantic to some of Cole Porter's most wonderful songs! It's big fun and a lot of laughs, with a surprise twist at the end!
