Theatre Revolution Celebrates 10 years with Glass Ceiling Breakers 2026
The First Festival of Plays and Films by Women Artists will premiere the short film TROUBLE starring Grammy Nominated Actress Donna Vivino

Garrison, NY - Theatre Revolution (TR) celebrates 10 years of making people laugh, cry and wonder and they won’t stop now! At a time when we need to unplug from AI and the world and elevate marginalized voices, TR returns to the Philipstown Depot Theatre with the 6th annual “Glass Ceiling Breakers” (GCB) short play and film festival June 5th through 7th in Garrison, NY, featuring works by local, national, and international female identifying artists. The festival runs as a three day event with 22 short films screened and 6 live plays that were selected from hundreds of submissions from around the world. This year’s film fest features the premiere of TROUBLE a short film written and produced by Gabrielle Fox of Theatre Revolution and directed by Primetime Emmy Award Winning Director Annetta Marion and stars Grammy Nominated Actress Donna Vivino. Donna Vivino made her Broadway debut at 8 years old, originating the role of Young Cosette in Les Misérables. Since then, she has built her career playing iconic leading ladies, including Elphaba in Wicked, Grizabella in CATS, Diana in Next to Normal, Mary in Merrily We Roll Along and most recently in the original cast of the Alicia Keys' musical Hell's Kitchen as Jersey. A veteran of the stage, Donna’s extensive additional Broadway and National Tour credits include Hairspray, Saturday Night Fever, and Fame Becomes Me opposite Martin Short. She was nominated for a 2024 Grammy Award as a lead vocalist on the album ‘Sondheim Unplugged.’ On film and television, Donna can be seen in The Sopranos, Law & Order, the recent feature film "Ezra" with Robert Deniro and Bobby Cannavale, and the current season of FBI: Most Wanted on CBS. The Women In Show Business Panel returns for its 4th year with Short Play to Short Film: A Conversation with Award Winning Writer and Founder of Theatre Revolution Gabrielle Fox and Primetime Emmy Award Winning Director Annetta Marion. Join them in conversation about collaboration and process.
Primetime Emmy Award-winning, BAFTA nominated and Peabody nominated filmmaker Annetta Marion joins the fest for her second year as a panelist. Marion says, “The Glass Ceiling Breakers Festival is the hub of an extremely talented and hard-working community of women artists dedicated to the film and theater arts. I’m so very happy to now consider myself a part of it all!” Annetta Marion is known for her work on Oprah’s Master Class, and most recently, Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie that she produced and second unit directed. Annetta serves the Directors Guild of America on the National Board (alternate), Eastern Directors Council, and as co-chair of the Focus on Women Committee.
On Friday June 5th at 7:30pm the festival will open with 6 plays written by Hudson Valley region female playwrights, Rofa Abayon of Katonah, Meghan Covington of Ardsley, Linda Bidwell Delaney of Yorktown Heights, Gabrielle Fox of Mount Kisco, and Lisa Morovic-Kimball of Montgomery, and Nan Gatewood Satter of New Paltz. The evening will end with a moderated talk back with the playwrights. All plays will perform each day of the festival.
Saturday, June 6th the festival kicks into high gear starting with the 1pm-2:30pm Block 1 of Short Films followed by a Q&A w/ filmmakers, 3pm-4pm a free panel discussion Conversations with Women in Show Business. Block 2 of Short Films runs 4:30pm-5:30pm followed by Q&A w/ filmmakers. The evening program starts with our plays at 7:30pm.
Sunday, June 8th, 1pm-2:15pm the curtain comes up on the final performances of our plays. 2:45pm Block 3 of Short Films will screen with Q&A w/ filmmakers followed immediately by a performance by members of the Beacon Rising Choir and then a closing reception and Awards announcements

About the Playwrights:
Rofa Abayon - The Status- Rofa Abayon is a local New York playwright and actress. Her plays have been featured in Westchester Theaters such as Theatre Revolution and Supporting Characters, and NYC Tribeca Performing Arts Center. She has performed with local Westchester theatre companies, including Axial, GoJo Clan, Theatre Revolution and Westchester Collaborative Theatre.
Meghan Covington - Bride/Maid - Meghan Covington is a NY based actor, playwright, and producer with an affinity for the experimental. As an actor, Meghan has performed in NY at The Tank, Theater for the New City, The Brick, and River's Edge Theatre Co. Regionally Meghan has worked on the stages of The Kennedy Center, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Co, The Shakespeare Theatre, and Olney Theatre. As a playwright her work has been performed at The Tank, The Chain, The Equity Theatre Library, Lions Heart Theatre Co., Musco Art Center, River's Edge Theatre Co, and Phillipstown Depot Theatre. As a producer, Meghan serves as the Artistic Director of River's Edge Theatre Company.
Linda Bidwell Delaney - Give a Dog a Bone - Linda Bidwell Delaney (she/her) is an award-winning playwright from Yorktown Heights whose works have been seen locally at Glass Ceiling Breakers, the New Deal Creative Arts Center, Axial Theatre, the Brewster Theatre Company. Ridgefield Theater Barn, Irvington Town Hall Theatre, Westchester Collaborative Theater and White Plains Performing Arts Center. Other adventures include the Inaugural Capital Region Festival of Theatre, Berkshires’ WAM Theater, Schenectady’s Proctors Theater, and the TANYS (Theater Association of New York State) Festival. She is a proud member of Honor Roll! and Dramatists Guild of America. She tends to treat serious subjects, like politics and dating, with humor.
Gabrielle Fox - Eulogy - Gabrielle Fox is an award-winning playwright. Her play The Home was presented in the La MaMa New Playwright Marathon and has won multiple awards. Her work is found in online journals and print anthologies including The Best New Ten Minute Plays 2021, We/US Monologues for the Gender Minority and The Best Women’s Stage Monologues 2026. She won the 914Inc. Women in Business Award for her work as Founder and Artistic Director of Theatre Revolution (now celebrating 10 years!) She wrote, directed and produced the award-winning short film Father Daughter Dance and wrote and produced Welcome to Theatre, and TROUBLE both directed by Emmy Award winner Annetta Marion. She founded GCB, the first women’s playwright/filmmaker festival in the Hudson Valley. She teaches at SUNYWCC and is a proud member of The Dramatists Guild
Lisa Morovic-Kimball - The Circumference of Rage - Lisa Morovic-Kimball studied theater at Kingsborough Community College, HB Studios and the Barrow. Productions include New Jersey Reparatory, Axial, Love Creek Productions, The Know, Candy Shoppe Theater, Rhinebeck Performing Arts Center, Half Moon Theater, Midtown International Theater and The Tank. She’s been published by Smith and Kraus, The Rip Rap Literary Journal and Clockhouse. Her full length, The Terror of Tulle, was a finalist in The American Bard Theatre in NYC. She workshops her plays at The Liberty Street Writers in Newburgh and Permafrost Theatre Collective in NYC. She resides in the Hudson Valley with an array of rescued critters.
Nan Gatewood Satter - Extreme Relaxation - Nan Gatewood Satter’s Variations on a Theme in the Key of Dreams was presented at The Stissing Center for Arts and Culture in April 2025. Her comedies Yalu River and Dinner at Donovan’s have been seen at the William Inge Theatre Festival; Silver Spring One-Act Festival; Valdez Theatre Conference; and The Center for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck, NY. Dinner at Donovan’s was produced in 2024 at the Theatre of Western Springs, and Yalu River was produced there in 2025. Extreme Relaxation debuts here at the 2026 Glass Ceiling Breakers Festival. Nan is a member of The Dramatist’s Guild and of HOWL Playwrights.
About the Filmmakers:
This year’s film portion of the festival includes films both locally and globally with artists from the Hudson Valley, across the US, Qatar, France, and the UK. Films range from comedy to drama to horror to dance, and cover a variety of topics including family and relationships, queer art and lifestyles, the best of Long Island trends, the rhythm of NYC, and mermaids. Films will be shown in 3 blocks, with artist Q&A discussions following each film block. Information on the artists as well as the dates and times can be found at www.theatrerevolution.org
