Six Short Plays Set for Stony Point in CAN AMERICA MAKE IT? Tonight

By:

Can America Make it? Is a diverse program of six thought provoking short plays that will take place at the Stony Point Conference Center located at: 17 Crickettown Road, Stony Point, NY, tonight November 1st 2013 at 8pm.

"This inspiring 60-minute array of engaging and powerful plays can be presented as a stand-alone program of Contemporary Theatre or as the centerpiece for an evening of feedback and discussion on injustice and some of the solutions that individuals can enact" says Angelo Parra Author of the Off-Broadway hit, The Devil's Music: The Life and Blues of Bessie Smith and Author of Playwriting for Dummies.

Producer Marie-Elena Ortiz says "the goal of Can America make it? is to push the envelope, to make people think about injustice as not only the problem of another, but one for themselves. The festival sheds light on issues of prejudice and discrimination of all kinds. We have come to far to allow such indignities to exist, and it's up to the people not only to be aware, but to be part of a community that cultivates peaceful and diplomatic conversations to overcome discrimination of all sorts. That's what this festival means to me."

Can America Make It? will benefit the Community of Living Traditions, a multifaith residency program based at SPC that practices hospitality, engages faith and cultivates nonviolence and justice.

$15.00 advance tickets. $17.00 at the door the night of the performance. Please RSVP at:
