Pianist Glen Kirchoff Featured on Hoff-Barthelson Music School's Recital Series

Pianist Glen Kirchoff performs a recital of chamber music on Friday, May 12, 2017, at 8:00 p.m., at Hoff-Barthelson Music School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale. Joining Mr. Kirchoff are guest artists and members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra Désirée Elsevier, viola; James Ognibene, clarinet; and Brendan Kane, bass.

Included on the program are Giovanni Bottesini's Elegy No. 1; Carl Ditters von Dittersdor's Duetto; Robert Schumann's Märchenerzählungen Op. 132 (Fairy Tales); and transcriptions of scenes and arias from Vincenzo Bellini masterful opera I Puritani. Program subject to change.

Admission to the recital is $18, $15 for seniors (65+) and free of charge for HBMS students and students 18 years of age and younger. Tickets can be ordered by calling 914-723-1169, or e-mailing hb@hbms.org and are available for purchase at the door.

About Glen Kirchoff:

Pianist and harpsichordist Glen Kirchoff studied with Edna Golandsky and has performed as a soloist with orchestras and in recital in the U.S. and Europe, including appearances at Carnegie Recital Hall, Barcelona Conservatory and the Metropolitan Museum Musical Instruments Gallery. His performances have been broadcast on NPR and NET and have been recorded on the Centaur label. Mr. Kirchoff is a member of the faculty of Hoff-Barthelson Music School, where he also serves as piano consultant, coordinating the restoration and care of the Music School's pianos.
