Trinity Rep previously announced that Motherhood the Musical® would follow up a premiere run and national tour with a stop in its Chace Theater this summer in a special engagement.

Motherhood the Musical®, a musical comedy highlighting the universal blessings and perils of being a mother, is produced by the team who brought Menopause The Musical® to sold-out audiences around the world, Motherhood the Musical®. The 90-minute musical features local and regional actors when it touches down in Providence tonight, May 25 through July 1. Regular tickets are $44 and are on sale now at www.trinityrep.com, by phone at 401-351-4242, and at the Trinity Rep box office at 201 Washington St. in Providence. Performances will be at 7:30PM on Wednesdays through Saturdays, with an additional 2PM matinee on Saturdays and Sundays during the run. All seats purchased after March 15 for performances between May 25-June 3 are $38.

Motherhood the Musical® is a four-woman show created by author and songwriter Sue Fabisch, a mother who understands that sometimes the best way to cope with the joys and trials of motherhood is to share the experience with other moms. The musical shares the humorous and loving journey of Amy, a soon-to-be first-time mom; Barb, an over-worked, underpaid, stressed-out mother of five; Brooke, a lawyer who works too much and barely sees her kids; and Tasha, a single mom struggling to balance work, family and a divorce.

“Motherhood the Musical® is the rare show that audiences not only relate to – they actually can ‘see’ themselves on stage through the cast’s portrayal of common experiences all moms have,” said Kathi Glist, Motherhood the Musical® producer and co-founder of GFOUR Productions. “From being pregnant to succumbing to driving a minivan, from facing an empty nest to anxiously awaiting one’s first grandchild, the musical really covers the entire wonderful, crazy journey of being a mom.”

Special discounts are available for groups of 10 or more and are available by calling the Trinity Rep Box Office at 401-351-4242 or Jennifer Ruffner at 888-686-8587, #11.

Motherhood the Musical® is the work of author and songwriter Sue Fabisch. This hysterical and poignant musical taps in to the universal experience of motherhood from the perspective of new moms, single moms, stressed out moms, divorced moms, grandmas and the many people who love these women. The 20-song musical includes the hilarious Billboard Top 10 comedy hit, “The Kids Are Finally Asleep;” the rousing call-to-shoppers, “Costco Queen;” and the tender ballad, “I’m Danny’s Mom.” The four-member company is directed and choreographed by Broadway’s Lisa Shriver, with music direction and supervision, arrangements and orchestrations from award-winning Johnny Rodgers. The show originally was produced for a sold-out run in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in fall 2010 and currently is playing a 65-city Australian tour.
