It was the perfect night for an outdoor event as Mike and Diane Prendimano of Ashaway welcomed over 50 supporters of Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), the not-for-profit producing entity at the historic Theatre By The Sea, to their sprawling estate. The property, a twelve acre farm, provides enough room to roam for one alpaca, two goats, two sheep, many chickens, "Julie" the cow, and the family dog. There are also blueberries, blackberries, grapes, figs trees and a huge assortment of vegetables adorning the property, which includes an expansive deck and pool sitting just beyond a wisteria covered veranda.
After seeing OSTC's production of Man of La Mancha at Theatre By The Sea earlier this season, the Predimanos were inspired by the talent of the young interns and apprentices and the not-for-profit's "What Can You Buy for a Dollar" campaign. The campaign is a season-long fundraising effort in support of the Intern and Apprentice program, which costs $45,000 annually. The Prendimanos wanted to thank and congratulate the interns and apprentices for all their hard work and thought they might also be successful raising additional funds to contribute to the cause. In coordination with OSTC's administrative intern, Ashley Macko, the Prendimanos organized a lovely gathering, which included generous contributions from area vendors including Guytanno's Café, JoNathan Edwards Winery, the Narragansett Olive Oil Company, The Splendid House: Holistic Housecleaning and Vacation Home Caretaking and Park Roway Inc. The interns and apprentices also signed packets of sunflower seeds from The Prendimanos garden for anyone making an additional donation.Videos
