Broadway's Linda Eder Coming to The VETS, 12/13
Popular recording artist, Broadway star, and concert performer Linda Eder will bring her legendary voice to The VETS in Providence for a one-night engagement on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 8P. Tickets are $35-$55; available online at www.TheVetsRI.com, by calling 401.421.ARTS (2787), or in person at the PPAC/The VETS box office located at 220 Weybosset St, Providence. Summer Box Office Hours: M-Th, 10A - 3P; open two hours prior to curtain time on performance dates. The VETS is located at One Avenue of the Arts. The VETS will be closed for renovation until September.
The Daily News says Linda Eder is "simply one of the most spellbinding singers of our time." Showcasing one of the greatest contemporary voices, her diverse repertoire spans Broadway, standards, pop, country and jazz. She is heralded as America's acclaimed new interpreter of pop standards and theatrical songs with 14 solo albums and 12 musical recordings, including her most recent CD "Christmas Where You Are." Linda Eder will also record her first-ever live concert CD on June 21st in Saratoga Springs, NY. Her career soared after appearing on Star Search in the 1988 season, winning for an unprecedented 12 consecutive weeks. This TV success led to a leading role on Broadway as Lucy Harris in the original production of Jekyll & Hyde, for which she received a Drama Desk Award nomination. Linda has performed at many prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Radio City Music Hall and more.
The Veterans Memorial Auditorium (The VETS) is a 1,900 seat theatre located in downtown Providence. The VETS is managed by Professional Facilities Management (PFM) and is part of the Rhode Island Convention and Entertainment Complex. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places. The VETS is currently undergoing extensive renovations to make it a state of the art performance facility.
