The touring production of the Alicia Keys jukebox musical, “Hell’s Kitchen,” is a fast-moving, spirited musical inspiration from the gifted Keys and her cohorts that paints a portrait of the artist as a young woman. The presentation at The Fox is movingly directed and energetically performed. Its essence is captured in the show’s dazzling choreography and faster musical numbers.

The puns are merciless and never-ending and the country-western music proves easy on the ears in this 2023 Broadway musical comedy, now playing in a good-natured, jaunty touring production at The Fabulous Fox.

With ‘alternate’ Jamaal Fields-Green delivering a spectacular performance in the title role on media night, the touring company of “MJ the Musical,” the hit Broadway musical about the meteoric rise of singer, songwriter, dancer extraordinaire Michael Jackson, is a rousing, exhilarating tour de force in its debut at The Fabulous Fox.

This reimagined version of “Company” switches the genders of its lead character, from Bobby the man to Bobbie the woman, with some other corresponding moves as well. That concept works well enough in this new version, which still relies on the magical Sondheim touch with witty, engaging lyrics and easily likable music. George Furth wrote the original book, and both Sondheim and Furth won Tony Awards in 1971.

Katerina McCrimmon fills the spacious Fox venue with her spectacular voice as well as an inspired interpretation of the title role in this stellar touring production of “Funny Girl,” now playing at The Fabulous Fox Theatre.
