What Shucked does so well is stay fully self-aware: There’s nothing gritty about the characters, nothing ma-cob-re about the script. Even Scott Pask’s set and Tilly Grimes’s costumes deliver exactly what you’d expect — stylized, streamlined farm chic. But Shucked doesn’t try to shock with a twist ending or controversial choices. It commits wholeheartedly to cheerful silliness and executes it a-maize-ingly.
