Review: Special effects make ‘Back to the Future’ worth the time travel for Boston tour

From: Cape Cod Times  |  Date: 7/16/2025

The main cast is terrific, led by Hallauer’s goofy, earnest charm and impressive guitar-playing as Marty, and Josefsberg’s eccentric, affable and dryly funny Doc. Mike Bindeman endearingly oozes awkwardness as bullied George McFly (a high-school student in 1955, Marty’s father in 1985), and Zan Berube shines as Lorraine, a confident teen and Marty’s future mother, whose throwback “Pretty Baby” number is one of the winners. Giving future mayor Goldie Wilson his own song, “Gotta Start Somewhere,” is a welcome spotlight for a person of color in a largely white story, and Cartreze Tucker impressively makes the most of it.

Review: Musical 'Shucked' charms with corny comedy as national tour stops in Boston

From: Cape Cod Times  |  Date: 4/16/2025

“Shucked,” on a Boston stop through April 20 of its North American tour, made me laugh. A lot, and often in spite of better judgment at the most groan-worthy moments in this rapid-fire script of jokes, puns and double entendres. Plus what began life as a “Hee Haw” wannabe titled “Moonshine” includes thoughtful messages at its heart about women’s roles, love, and the value of bringing people together despite mistrust.
