Magic and mayhem take center stage in ‘Harry Potter & The Cursed Child’
The star of this show, however, is the special effects, and they are impressive. The wand fight between Draco (Ryan Hallahan) and Harry (Nick Dillenberg) is especially good, with both being tossed through the air.
Theatre Review: ‘Mamma Mia!’ continues to delight audiences with standout performances and energetic dance numbers
There were a couple of stand-out performances by Tanya (Jalynn Steele) and Rosie (Carly Sakalove) that brought the house down. Steele wowed the audience in “Does Your Mother Know” as a much younger man tried to get into her good graces. Her choreography was complicated and stunning, including one high kick worthy of a Rockette. Sakalove was hilarious in “Take a Chance on Me,” where she chased Bill Austin (Jim Newman) around the chairs set up for the wedding. Both Steele and Sakalove earned thunderous applause at the curtain call.
Theatre Review: ‘Company’ at PPAC is worth seeing
I’d never seen “Company,” but I did know some of the music. I did enjoy the show, but on the way out, I did notice some patrons shaking their heads. Some said they didn’t get it. So, like everything else in theater, you’ll have to make up your own mind. “Company” is worth seeing.
