Ingrid Michaelson’s lush music is by far the strongest element of “The Notebook: The Musical,” even if uniform motifs occasionally blend one song with the next. The 11 o’clock belter, “My Days,” proved such an earworm, it broke containment in 2024, trending on TikTok beyond just musical fans, after the original Broadway Middle Allie, Joy Woods, immortalized the track on the cast album.

“Parade” is both a warning and a promise of what America has been, is, and may become. This is musical theater at its most potent. Beautiful music, inspired directing, and a phenomenal cast merge for a once-in-a-lifetime production now in its final days. I doubt we will again see “Parade” so powerfully produced at so devastating a moment. Challenge yourself and “Parade” will stay with you well beyond the performance.
