Although it doesn't quite capture the distinctly quirky humor of the beloved Christmas movie, you'd have to be a cotton-headed ninny-muggins — or at least a real Scrooge — not to at least smile at the seasonal antics of "Elf the Musical."

Having seen the musical, the Tonys for Nicholaw's exhilarating choreography, Barnes' dazzling costumes and Carter and Rosen's rousing orchestrations are all well-deserved. The set design by Scott Pask, lighting by Natasha Katz and sound by Brian Ronan are excellent, too.
