Raleigh Little Theatre Presents A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS and JINGLE BELL JUKEBOX, Today

By:

Raleigh Little Theatre kicks off its Family Series (formerly the Youth Series) with two Christmas plays presented together. The production opens on Friday, October 28 and runs through Sunday, November 13.

"A Charlie Brown Christmas" is a faithful stage adaptation of the classic television special by Charles M. Schultz. This is its first local production. "Jingle Bell Jukebox" is a medley of holiday Christmas favorites set in a 1950's soda shop. Both plays are directed by Linda O'Day Young, and music directed by Andy Beck, one of the writers of "Jingle Bell Jukebox." The run time of the two combined plays is about an hour.

The Family Series continues in March with the local premiere of "When She Had Wings," a play about a young girl who dreams of flying and is visited by someone who just might be Amelia Earhart. "James and the Giant Peach" is the final show in the series, performed in the Sutton Theatre in April. Membership packages for all three shows in the Family Series are still available and are just $43 for adults and teens and $30 for children 12 and under.

"A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "Jingle Bell Jukebox" are sponsored by First Citizens Bank and run October 28 - November 13 in the Gaddy-Goodwin Teaching Theatre. Tickets for all events at RLT can be purchased by calling the box office (919)-821-3111, Monday through Friday, noon to 5:00 p.m., or by visiting the theatre's website at www.raleighlittletheatre.org.
