Michael McCormick & Stacey Todd Holt to Star in THE PRODUCERS in Raleigh

By: Feb. 12, 2011

North Carolina Theatre, the region's premier producer of professional Broadway musical revivals is proud to produce The Producers, running February 12th through the 20th in Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh, presented by Capital Bank.

The Producers kicks off NC Theatre's 2011 blockbuster Broadway season which also includes Hello, Dolly! (May 7-15), Hairspray (July 23-31) and Evita (October 22-30). The Producers is outrageous, hilarious and the winner of a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards. Mel Brooks stage production is one of the biggest hits to ever land on Broadway, and is a ridiculous spectacle that follows two would-be producers as they attempt to make a fortune by producing a sure-fire bomb. The audience will laugh along with Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom as they sing and dance their way through the greatest showbiz scam there ever was.

The stars of The Producers are fresh off of the new holiday Broadway hit, Elf, which ran during the holiday season in 2010 on Broadway.

Michael McCormick played the role of Mr. Greenway in Elf and joins the NC Theatre cast in the lead role, Max Bialystock. He has been in numerous Broadway productions, including Curtains, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Pajama Game, Kiss Me Kate, 1776 and Gypsy, to name a few. Stacey Todd Holt, an Elf cast member, stars as Leo Bloom. He understudied the role on Broadway and served as Matthew Broderick's stand-in during the filming of the movie, The Producers. On Broadway, Holt has been in The Drowsy Chaperone, Contact, Big and Crazy for You.
Other featured cast members include Stuart Marland (Roger DeBris) from Broadway's Xanadu, Beauty and the Beast, Jekyll & Hyde, National Tour of The Producers, Steven Ted Beckler (Franz) from Broadway's The Most Happy Fella, Beauty and the Beast, National Tour of The Producers, Christopher Sloan (Carmen Ghia) from National Tours of Cabaret, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Lara Seibert (Ulla) from Broadway's Young Frankenstein, National Tour of The Producers.
