During the week of Sept. 10th - 17th, Davidson Community Players is hosting a residency by New River Dramatists. New River Dramatists is a group of professional theatre artists dedicated to writers & new script development.

(Please check out their website at www.newriverdramatists.org.)

On Saturday, Sept. 12th, NRD is holding a workshop for teen playwrights from 9:00-Noon at The Warehouse in Cornelius. NRD will perform script-in-hand readings of the work for playwrights to hear; afterwards, they will generate discussion, and provide feedback for rewriting. It is a fun, safe, and productive process.

For writers to participate, we'd like for them to have a rough-draft of a script from 5 to 30 minutes in length. Plays or screenplays do not have to be finished or polished, they most definitely can be works in progress. Ideally, however, plays should have a beginning, middle, and end.

The workshop will take place at The Warehouse in Cornelius and is being organized on behalf of DCP by Marla Brown. If you have any questions or would like to secure a spot, please contact her via email at marlabrown@mac.com or phone, 704.619.0429. You may submit your work to Marla via email.
