Burning Coal Theatre Company Presents Wonder of the World 8/4-14

Burning Coal Theatre Company presents David Lindsay-Abaire's Wonder of the World August 4-14, 2011 at the Murphey School as part of its Wait ‘Til You See This series. This wild and wacky comedy delves into the institution of marriage and the seven-year itch.

Wonder of the World will run August 4-14 with performances at 7:30pm on August 4, 5, 11, 12 and 13 and at 2:00pm on August 7 and 14. There will be no performance on Saturday, August 6. Tickets are $10 for Thursday shows and $15 for all other performances. All performances will take place at the Murphey School Auditorium at 224 Polk Street in Raleigh.

In Wonder of the World, a woman uncovers a dirty little secret in the back of her husband's sweater drawer and bolts to Niagara Falls, franticly searching for the life she thinks she missed out on. Playwright David Lindsay-Abaire's gift for the absurd sends a crazy cast of characters, including an alcoholic with a barrel and a watery death wish and a lonely tour-boat captain, tumbling closer and closer to The Edge of the falls. Using absurdity and outrageous situations Wonder of the World plumbs the depths of the institution of marriage and the idea of destiny.

Directed by J. Chachula, Wonder of the World will feature: Amy Bossi-Nasiatka, Kevin Ferguson, Wyatt Geist, Olivia Griego, Kathryn LeTrent, Jan Morgan and Al Singer.

About the Director. J. Chachula, artistic director and co-founder of Flying Machine Theatre Company, will direct. A veteran triangle actor and director, Chachula also teaches classes in Meisner technique at Flying Machine Theatre Company.
