Review: MAKS, VAL, & PETA LIVE ON TOUR: CONFIDENTIAL Brings Love Story to Durham Performing Arts Center

Following their successful OUR WAY tour in 2015, DANCING WITH THE STARS' brothers VALENTINE CHMERKOWVSKIY and MAKSIM CHMERKOWVSKIY brought their new show, CONFIDENTIAL, to The Durham Performing Arts Center stage Thursday, along with two time Mirror Ball champion, also known as Maks' wife, Peta Murgatroyd.

"I've had two of the most eventful years of my life," said Maks. "This time I'm a husband, a father, in the best shape of my professional career and still learning on and off the dance floor every day."

Joining the trio are a troop of strong dancers, including SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE alums KOINE "KOKO" IWASAKI and CHRIS "KIKI" NYEMCHEK.

The show seamlessly segues from personal video testimonials and family pictures to clever choreographed dance numbers.

Peta, who made her Broadway debut as the lead female dancer in BURN THE FLOOR in 2009, stands out as the charismatic star of this show, displaying her mastery of contemporary and ballroom dance.

Val, who at times is overshadowed by distracting screen projections and lights, channels his inner Fred Astaire, floating across the stage during the final dance number.

At its core, CONFIDENTIAL is a love story. Fans of Dancing with the Stars will enjoy watching Maks and Peta's boy meets girl-boy loses girl-boy gets girl back-love story play out on stage. It's truly a love letter to the fans, who in Durham, couldn't get enough MVP.

Durham is the second stop on the show's 50 city tour. For more information visit:
