Once again, the TNSJ opens its doors to the student community, as Teatro Carlos Alberto hosts a musical theatre show that congregates the various 3rd-year theatre classes of ACE Escola de Artes. Written by Zeferino Mota, Atrairia as Próprias Pedras [Drawing the Very Stones] invokes situations, characters and scenes from various plays by William Shakespeare – from Richard II to The Merchant of Venice, from Henry V to Hamlet –, in combination with passages by writers and thinkers who were drawn to the work of “the inventor of the human”. This magnetic attraction is also visible in José Manuel Cerqueira’s music, mostly inspired by Shakespeare’s sonnets. Do all roads lead to the Bard of Stratford-upon-Avon?
