Jerry Paine Scholarship Fundraiser Show Held At Gallery Theater 5/19

By: May. 19, 2010

The annual Jerry Paine Scholarship Fundraiser Show will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 12 at Gallery Theater. This year's show is sure to be a memory inducing "good trip" and a fun event for the whole family.

The USO Salute will feature stars from the Gallery Players stage: Walt Haight, Adam Ewing, Deborah Johansen and others. The show is dedicated to the generation that lived through the Vietnam years. This is a warm tribute to the 1960's era of rock 'n roll, flower power, peace signs and great music, coupled with a sincere "thank you" to the guys and gals who served in the armed forces during this turbulent time. Join us as we sing, play and dance to the music of Herb Alpert, Sonny and Cher, and Booker T and The MG's. This show will feature the "Solid Gold Dancers," a look back at "The Dating Game" and audience members may even experience a "Hootennanny" along the way!

The show is directed by Mark Williams, produced by Joyce Messina with musical direction by Frank Messina.

TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW - RESERVED SEATING - CALL THE THEATER BOX OFFICE AT 503-472-2227. ADMISSION -- $14.00 ADULTS, $10 MILITARY W/ID AND SPOUSE, $8 STUDENTS. A complimentary dessert will be served.

This year marks the 24th anniversary of Jerry Paine's passing. Jerry was a Gallery Theater regular for many years, and a great friend to so many who knew him and worked with him. When he died in 1986, he left a permanent legacy by giving a sum of money to Gallery Theater, with the wish that it be used to provide scholarships for high school seniors who planned to pursue the performing arts in college. Gallery Theater is honored to provide this scholarship every year, and the revenue that is generated by the annual Fundraiser Show ensures that we will continue to do so. Look for a special tribute to Jerry Paine in the Gallery Theater lobby when you attend the show, and learn more about this wonderful, generous human being.
