31st Edition of MUSIKFEST to Run 8/1-5

Dinosaurs roaming through the festival grounds, performers who love to play with fire and a replica of a U.S. Space Shuttle are among the many new highlights and attractions guests will find when they attend the 31st edition of Musikfest this August. The event, the largest free music festival in the nation, will feature more than 500 performances on 14 stages over 10 days, as well as 65 food vendors, 45 artisans and tons of family fun.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces Christmas in July, a special event being held during the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership's Market Square Farmer's Market on Thursday, July 17th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in downtown Pittsburgh. Christmas in July promises an afternoon of entertainment and special offers as the holiday season arrives early in Pittsburgh. 12 Peers Theater Presents The World Premiere of Philip Real's CACTUS, Now thru 7/13

Written by local playwright Philip Real, Cactus is a World Premiere play, produced as the final show of their third season, by 12 Peers Theater. A loose adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Cactus moves the events to the Arizona border. Two conflicting vampire families patrol the area; one working with the United States Government to kill illegal border crossers, the other protecting them. When Ron and Julie, two seemingly teenaged vampires from the opposing families, fall in love, will it bring their families closer together, or drive them farther apart? Cactus is a play about doing whatever it takes to protect the people you care about, and the dangers that can complicate even the best intentions.
