City Theatre to Present SISTER'S SUMMER SCHOOL CATECHISM: GOD NEVER TAKES A VACATION, 9/5-15

City Theatre celebrates the season of baseball and barbeque with Sister's Summer School Catechism: God Never Takes a Vacation, a hilarious interactive comedy featuring audience favorite Kimberly Richards. A City Events special presentation, Sister's Summer School Catechism runs in City Theatre's Hamburg Studio from September 5 to 15, 2013.

Sister is back, and she's not happy. Instead of relaxing poolside at the motherhouse all summer, she's stuck teaching catechism to YOU-truants, all of you. School is in session, so get ready to sit up straight and participate! Complete with hilarious audience interaction, Saints versus Cardinals baseball, and the irrepressible Kimberly Richards, this is one lesson you'll be happy to learn!

Kimberly Richards returns to City Theatre, where she has performed over 700 shows as "Sister" since 2005. Kim was born in Greentree at St. Clair Memorial Hospital and baptized at St. Margaret of Scotland. She grew up in Oakland, California, and launched her versatile career over 40 years ago-actress, aerialist, choreographer, comedienne, dancer, director, illusionist. Her experience includes a USO tour of Asia, and hanging from a rope at 60 feet without a net for two years at CIRCUS CIRCUS in Reno. Her acting credits include two of San Francisco's longest running hits, Bar None and Beyond Therapy, as well as dozens of other productions. Kim has won an Outstanding Performance Award, two Drama-Logue awards, and three Dean Goodman Choice awards. In 2012, she originated the role of Barbara in the North American premiere of Big Pants and Botox, a one-woman show by British playwright Louise Roche; Kim is touring the US with Botox. Kim's directing credits include Waiting for Godot, The Trip to Bountiful, and numerous other plays. In 2009, she directed the world premiere of Pulp Scripture, which swept the San Francisco Fringe Festival, winning eight awards including Best New Comedy. Her choreography credits include many shows in California and Nevada. With Tom Segal she choreographed Abe Lincoln's Big Gay Dance Party, winning Best New Play in the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival. In 2012, Kim choreographed a critically acclaimed, sold-out production of My Fair Lady, for which she won the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Choreography. Since 2001, Kim has regularly toured the US and Canada starring as "Sister" in all seven installments of the hit one-woman comedy series Late Nite Catechism.
