A LYRICAL CHRISTMAS CAROL Opens Today At The New Hazlett Theater

A unique retelling of Charles Dickens' classic Christmas story returns this holiday season when Pittsburgh Musical Theater presents Ken Gargaro's A Lyrical Christmas Carol.

The Richard E. Rauh Conservatory at Pittsburgh Musical Theater's production will run Dec. 13-16 at the New Hazlett Theater, located at 6 Allegheny Square East. The show features conservatory students and local professional actors, including Brady D. Patsy, reprising the role of Scrooge.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13, Friday, Dec. 14 & Saturday, Dec. 15, and 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 16.

Tickets at the door are $20 for adults and $15 for students, military members, and seniors (ages 65 and older).

Peppered with favorite Christmas carols, this special production tells the timeless Dickens story about the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge sits in his house, wishing to be left alone until the 'humbug' of Christmas is over when he is visited by four ghosts; his former business partner, Jacob Marley, followed by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. In the end, Scrooge learns the error of his ways and the true meaning of the Christmas season.
